Just a collection of some of my GoPro and Drone Videos from my travels (My Gear)

Uppsala, Sweden

I moved to Uppsala in May 2019 after spending 3.5 years in the UK and I could not be happier. This city is just 31 minutes north of Stockholm by train and is the 4th largest in Sweden. This university city has a castle, a cathedral, a ton of parks, and your occasional cobblestone street. This is some of my drone footage over the past year. If you want more info about seeing Uppsala, check out my blog post.

Sweden in 4K

During my travels to various Swedish cities, I have managed to collect so much footage (several hours worth). I put this video together so people can see so much of what Sweden has to offer and to show the place that has enabled me to fall in love with this country. If you want more info about seeing Sweden, check out my blog post on Swedish cities.

Uppsala, Sweden in Winter

My first winter in Sweden was pretty brutal. The cold and the darkness definitely takes its toll on your mentality. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much snow. Luckily my 2nd winter dusted the city frequently with white, allowing me to capture some awesome wintry shots of the city. I really liked the contrast of the exquisitely colored Swedish buildings and the white snow.

Iceland

My third time in Iceland happened to be in June 2020. After going through all COVID testing protocols, I rented a camper van and with my Canon and Drone in hand, managed to get some awesome footage of this great country. If you have never been before, I strongly advise you going. You won’t regret it. If you want more information about my trip, check out my summary post.

Sofia, Bulgaria

I didn’t really know what to expect from Sofia when I first went there. I had done my research and knew some of the places I wanted to see, but I found it to be fascinating. There is so much history there, and what I really enjoyed was the architecture of the Orthodox churches. The weather wasn’t too bad for me as it allowed me to fly Toby all the days I was there. If you want more info on seeing Sofia, check out my blog post.

Helsingborg, Sweden

Although not the most popular city in Sweden, I really enjoyed my time here and have since returned time and again. The city is quite small and much of it is concentrated at the nearby harbor, which is where I took most of this footage. Such landmarks include Rådhuset, the Light and Pilot House, and Kärnan. I hope to go back again soon to film more of what Helsingborg has to offer. If you want more info on seeing Helsingborg, check out my blog post.

Lund, Sweden

Lund, like Uppsala, is also known as a university town here in Sweden. The city is a short distance away from Malmö and has some great points of interest like All Saints Church, Lund Cathedral, and Kulturen. I also managed to get take some time lapse videos with my new GoPro and have incorporated them into the video. You can easily see the city in a whole day so best to stay in Malmö and go from there. If you want more info on seeing Lund, check out my blog post.

Malmö, Sweden

The third largest city in Sweden lies in Skåne county, near the border of Denmark. The city is quite large and boasts a castle, a beach, a few lighthouses, countless parks, an old town, and an industrial area. You can take a train here from Stockholm which takes several hours. Nonetheless I surely hope to return to Malmö in the Spring time to capture more footage. If you want more info on seeing Malmö, check out my blog post.

Zürich, Switzerland

What I really liked about Zürich was how compact of a city it was and how easy it was to navigate on foot. Probably the best part of the city is the bridge that separates the two most notable churches: Fraumünster and Grossmünster. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy during my entire stay, not even an ounce of sunlight. Which is just ok, it gives me another reason to visit in the Summer. One tip if you intend on visiting: prepare you wallet, it is THE most expensive city I have ever been to. If you want more info on seeing Zürich, check out my blog post.

Reynisfjara Beach, Iceland

This popular black sand beach on the South Coast of Iceland makes for excellent dramatic video. The centerpiece of this beach happens to be the rock formations that sit just off the beach into the distance, called Reynisdrangar. You can also get a great view of them from the town of Vik. Check out my posts about Iceland if you want more info.

Kalmar, Sweden

This small town is really quite remarkable. It is situated on the southeastern coast of Sweden and we spent a few days there in the early Spring. It’s also situated next to the island of Öland, which has history dating back to 8000 BC. The town was easy to reach by train from Stockholm and was easy to navigate. If you want more info on seeing Kalmar, check out my blog post.

The Waterfalls of Iceland

They say Iceland has over 10,000 waterfalls so it’s virtually impossible to see all of them in your stay. Nonetheless, I managed to get some footage of some of my favorite ones during my last trip there. They come in all shapes and sizes and I recommend a solid week to drive around the country to reach some of them. If you want a more detailed description and location for each waterfall I have featured, check out my blog post.

Icelandic Waterfall: Klifbrekkufossar

Without a doubt, this is the best waterfall in all of Iceland. I did my research and managed to find my way here through inclement weather and had it entirely to myself. The falls is a series of cascading steps that reach nearly 100 meters tall. You can even walk right up to one of the steps and feel the spray right on your face. This was a great test for my drone skills as I tried to get the falls in one continuous shot.

Öland, Sweden

This island is situated on the Southeast coast of Sweden, right next to the city of Kalmar. It is very common to rent a car or hire a bike and explore this island for at least a few days. Some of the historical artifacts on this island date back to 8000 BC. I really enjoyed flying the drone around to get some great aerial shots of some of these ruins. If you want more info on seeing Öland, check out my blog post.

Kyiv, Ukraine

I didn’t really know what to expect when seeing Kiev. I didn’t realize how much I would actually enjoy it though. The Russian Orthodox Cathedrals and Churches were so awesome to see and I found the people to be extremely helpful. I also managed to take a day trip to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone which was such a great experience. If you want more info on seeing Kyiv, check out my blog post.

Malta

I spent a solid week in Malta, checking out the main island as well as the smaller islands of Gozo and Comino. It took some time to register my drone with the Malta Transport Authority but after clearance, I was able to get some amazing drone footage of some of the most iconic places in the entire country. What I especially loved was capturing so many different parts of the coastline. I would love to go back someday! If you want more info on seeing Malta, check out my blog post.

Malta (Extended Cut)

It’s so difficult to condense so much video footage down to 3-4 minutes, so I took my hours worth of footage during my trip to Malta and added them to this extended cut video. This is an extension of my shorter Malta video (above) detailing my trip to the main island as well as Gozo and Comino. Hope you enjoy! If you want more info on seeing Malta, check out my blog post.

Gothenburg, Sweden

The 2nd largest city in Sweden is situated on the West Coast. This city of half a million people has a much different vibe and feel to that of Stockholm. I have been to Gothenburg a few times but never with my drone in hand. The last time I was there, I woke up at sunrise to capture some of the gorgeous morning colors and they did not disappoint! If you want more info on seeing Gothenburg, check out my blog post.

Marstrand, Sweden

This small island is about an hour North of Gothenburg on the West Coast of Sweden. It’s perfect for a day trip away from the city and is amazing to hike around. I felt that Marstrand was quite enchanting, with the gorgeous Swedish villas and even its own fortress, namely Carlstens Fästning. Flying the drone here was so much fun and I was super excited about the footage I got. If you want more info on seeing Marstrand, check out my blog post.

Trakai Island Castle, Trakai, Lithuania

This gorgeous castle can be seen with a quick day trip from Vilnius to the small town of Trakai. The castle itself is situated on its own island and is the highlight of the town. I saw photos of this castle years ago and have been motivated to finally see it with my own eyes ever since. I got lucky as the weather started to clear up a few hours after my arrival. Do what you can to see this gem when you visit this Baltic country. If you want more info on seeing Vilnius, check out my blog post.

Vilnius, Lithuania

This was my last Baltic Capital to see and I guess you could say I saved the best for last. This was also the only Baltic capital I was able to capture with a drone (all the more reason to head back to Riga and Tallinn!). I really enjoyed Lithuania as a whole and although the weather in Vilnius wasn’t the best, the city and people made it still such a vibrant spot and I hope to return there soon. If you want more info on seeing Vilnius, check out my blog post.

Swedish Castles

In my limited time living here in Sweden, I have realized how this country doesn’t suffer from a shortage of amazing castles. This video is just a small compilation of some of the castles I was able to capture with my drone. There are still many more on my list to see but hopefully you can appreciate the architecture and beauty of these relics still standing today.

Bled, Slovenia

The hype surrounding Bled in Slovenia is very real and not misplaced one bit. The city itself is charming and quaint, perfect for a weekend away from the busier capital city of Ljubljana. I managed to get up for sunrise and stay until sunset to capture some of this footage and had an amazing time doing so. If you want more info on seeing Bled, check out my blog post.

Ljubljana, Slovenia

The focal point of the Slovenian capital has to be Ljubljana Castle, which is featured heavily in this video. Ljubljana happened to be one of my favorite European capitals that I have visited so far. I love the architecture and friendly vibe of all the locals that I managed to meet there. I sure hope to return soon. If you want more info on seeing Ljubljana, check out my blog post.

Slovenia (Extended Cut)

My 10 day road trip around Slovenia took me to several cities and some amazing natural wonders. This is an extended cut compilation of my time in Ljubljana, Triglav National Park, Piran, Ptuj, Bled, Maribor, and Sveti Tomaz. If you want more info on road tripping through Slovenia, check out my blog post.

Maribor, Slovenia

This is the 2nd largest city in Slovenia, located in the Northeast of the country, near the smaller town of Ptuj. I really loved the waterfront area of this city, especially during a spell of such wonderful summer weather (in September even). If you want more info on Maribor, check out my blog post.

Sveti Tomaz, Slovenia

I got here right before sunrise after renting a car in Ljubljana and my timing couldn’t have been better. This small village features a church atop a hill, overlooking a valley on three sides. This is definitely some of my favorite footage I got during my entire Slovenian road trip.

Slovenia Road Trip

This is a snapshot of my 10 day road trip through Slovenia, highlighting all the best sights I managed to see with my drone in hand. This video doesn’t do the country justice in showing just how beautiful it is. Hope you enjoy it anyway! If you want more info on road tripping through Slovenia, check out my blog post.

Kotor, Montenegro

I had heard so much about Kotor for the longest time. As someone who loves Dubrovnik in Croatia, I had seen that Montenegro in general had a lot of these peninsular walled old towns that are just gorgeous. This took me to Kotor. The old town, better known as Stari Grad, was exceptionally charming and there was plenty of hiking one could do around the city center as well.

Budva, Montenegro

Budva is considered to be the vacation hotspot in all of Montenegro. I often compare it to Dubrovnik in Croatia but Budva is less popular and a bit cheaper, a WIN-WIN! I loved walking along the city walls and exploring all the alleyways in our refreshingly sunny day there. I find that the city looks the best from above! If you want more info on what to see in Budva, check out my blog post!

Aarhus, Denmark

A friend told me that she attended Aarhus University for her degree. She told me about how charming the city was, so many cafes and cozy spots with a number of landmarks. This was easily my most favorite city in Denmark and I surely hope I can go sometime soon again. I loved the Aarhus Art Museum (AroS) the most, especially its panoramic rainbow walkway on its roof.

Odense, Denmark

This is the 3rd largest city in Denmark and the birthplace of famed Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. I didn’t know what to expect from this city, especially since I visited right after seeing Aarhus, which I loved. Odense is small and compact but a wonderful place to spend a weekend in. The town is charming and with an abundance of green spaces, you never feel like you’re in one of Denmark’s largest cities.

Copenhagen, Denmark

I can’t remember how many times I have been to the Danish capital but I’m sure glad I had my drone with me this last time. The weather was great and before my parents arrived to meet me, I took Toby for a spin in the sky a bit. It took some prior planning to figure out which parts of the city were ok for flying but I’m very happy with the video result! If you want more info on seeing Copenhagen, check out my blog post!

Bergen, Norway

I had been to Bergen only once in the last 5 years but lucky for me, I had an extended 3 day layover my second time there. We really lucked out with the weather but it seemed as though the greatness of this city had been realized by everyone. It was packed! Nonetheless, I loved walking through it, reminded of where I was 5 years ago and how far I had come in my life. If you want more info on seeing Bergen, check out my blog post!

Tórshavn, Faroe Islands

It had been one of my dreams to see the Faroe Islands. I can’t remember how I first heard about them but I was hooked. The capital city is small, but absolutely gorgeous. I really enjoyed the relaxed vibe and friendliness of the locals that I really hadn’t found with other Nordic capitals. If you want more info on seeing Tórshavn, check out my blog post!

Faroe Islands (Extended Cut)

I spent nearly a week traveling to most of the islands that make up the Faroe Islands. Luckily, the weather wasn’t too rainy and not too windy so I could fly my drone and get some great footage. This country really is something special and if you can manage to get yourself here, you will not regret it. I would love to go back someday myself!

Lofoten Islands, Norway (Extended Cut)

Ever since moving to Scandinavia, Lofoten had always been on my radar. I spent a week and hired a campervan, exploring these islands and the experience was nothing short of awesome. Such gorgeous vistas and quaint towns, we even did a midnight kayaking tour which was like something out of a dream. Here is my drone footage from our time there. If you want more info on seeing Lofoten, check out my blog post!

Tjørnuvik, Faroe Islands

The village of Tjørnuvik is situated in a valley that feeds right into the North Atlantic Ocean. There’s only 55 homes there and even the road getting here along tall cliffs overlooking the ocean are stunning. The beach is also popular for surfing. What I enjoyed most was the colorful homes that stand out quite nicely against the earthly-toned landscape. If you want more info on seeing Tjørnuvik, check out my blog post!

Waterfalls of the Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands are in no shortage of waterfalls, but some are more gorgeous than others. During my time there, I explored some of these waterfalls across the islands of Streymoy, Vágar, and Bordoy. Most notably, the Fossá, Múlafossur, Skarðsáfossur, Bøsdalafossur, Svartafoss, Týggjará, and Svartidalurfoss Waterfalls are the most worth seeing. If you want more info on Faroe Islands Waterfalls, check out my blog post!

Streymoy, the Faroe Islands

This island is probably one of the nicest in all of the Faroes. If you had to just choose one, this would be in. Here you’ve got Saksun, Fossá waterfall, the village of Tjørnuvik, as well as the capital city of Tórshavn. I would highly recommend taking 2-3 days to explore most of what Streymoy has to offer. If you want more info on seeing Streymoy, check out my blog post!

Liverpool, England

I had appreciated the skyline of Liverpool ever since I moved there and lived for a few years. It wasn’t until coming back to visit friends that I took my drone and was able to catch some shots during golden hour the same morning. If you want more info on seeing Liverpool, check out my blog post.

Vidoy, Faroe Islands

Vidoy is one of the farthest away islands in the Faroese archipelago but don’t let that stop you from checking it out. It has a few nice villages and an amazing coastline. If you want more info on seeing Vidoy, check out my blog post.

Vágar, Faroe Islands

Vágar is arguably the nicest island in the Faroe Islands. Here you’ve got hiking trails, waterfalls, and cool villages to check out. If you want more info on seeing Vágar, check out my blog post.

The Faroe Islands

I had been wanting to come to the Faroe Islands for quite awhile and I finally managed to. I tried to hit as many of the islands as I could in the archipelago but will definitely come back for more. If you want more info on seeing the Faroe Islands, check out my blog post.

Kallur Lighthouse, Kalsoy, Faroe Islands

This is one of the coolest lighthouses and landscapes I have ever seen. You can take a ferry to the island of Kalsoy and drive to the north part of the island and hike the remaining few kilometers to this lighthouse. If you want more info on seeing Kallur Lighthouse, check out my blog post.

Henningsvaer, Lofoten, Norway

Hands down one of my favorite towns to see in all of Lofoten. It is perhaps most known for its football field amidst many of its tiny islands. We could have stayed here all week if we wanted to. If you want more info on seeing Henningsvaer, check out my blog post.

Nusfjord, Lofoten, Norway

Such a charming idyllic village in Lofoten, Norway. We spent half a day here and loved every minute of it. If you want more info on seeing Nusfjord, check out my blog post.

Vaeroy, Lofoten, Norway

One of the most southern points in the Lofoten Islands, Vaeroy was a wonderful experience. If you want more info on seeing Vaeroy, check out my blog post.
